November Empties

This month was better for me for empties, and I have a feeling December will be even better!

L to R: Ducray Squanorm Shampoo, Secret Clinical Strength Waterproof Anti-Perspirant

Ducray Squanorm Shampoo: same as last time (see review here), still a fav! Have already repurchased!

Secret Clinical Stength Waterproof Anti-Perspirant: same as last time (see review here), still a fav! Have already repurchased!

Rexall 125 Quilted Round Cosmetic Pads: these are some of the worst cotton pads I've used in a while.  Really fluff, get caught everywhere, and aren't even strong enough to withstand removal of glitter nail polish.  Will not repurchase!

L to R: Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub, Chocolate Chip Cookie Bath & Shower Gel, Lancôme Hypnose Star Mascara in Black

Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub: This is my fav facial scrub I've tried, I love the citrus scent, and the price is very reasonable! I use this 3 to 4 times a week to slough off dead skin on my face, and I think it does a great job exfoliating! I still have a backup of this but will definitely repurchase again!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Bath & Shower Gel: this is a no-name brand shower gel that came in a set of 5 other fall-themed scents that I received as a gift.  There is a reason there's no name-brand here, this shower gel hardly lathers at all although the scent is dead-on. Even if I could repurchase I would not.

Lancôme Hypnose Star Mascara in Black: I received this deluxe sample of the mascara in my Sephora It Kit last December, this bottle lasted me a long time, definitely loaded with product! I do really like this mascara, but I'm not sure if I would spend > $25 on a mascara.  I have already accumulated 2 backups of the sample size, so I'm set for a while!

NOTD: November 29, 2013

This is 2 coats of Sephora by OPI Aladdin's Girl (from this haul) from the Sephora Disney Collection for Jasmine! I love anything Disney and think this polish is a great representation of the hot Arabian desert where Aladdin takes place (not to mention that treasure trove!).

I used my Orly Top2Bottom as the base coat.

What special collections or collaborations always pull you in?

This is two coats of Sephora by OPI Leaf Him at the Altar (from this haul) over my Revlon Multi-Care Base+Top Coat.

I think there's been a bit of a trend for me towards leaning towards metallic polish as the holidays grow nearer.

What do you find yourself leaning towards to get in the holiday spirit?

November 18, 2013 Haul

Not another haul! Uggh, why must Sephora call to me so often?

The main reason for the haul: the Tarte Pure Delights 8 Piece Lip Surgence Set

I had already received a Tarte Matte Lip Surgence in last year's Sephora Favourites Give Me Some Lip Set, and I loved it, so I quickly purchased another one (this time Tarte Lip Surgence Lip Crème) and knew that I would definitely purchase whichever Christmas set from Tarte had the most Lip Surgence (this was before the Collector's Set was released...and I don't think I'll take the plunge with that one, but who knows?)!

I am loving this set and definitely recommend it to all Tarte Lip Surgence fans! I'm loving most of the colours (but been a bit shy around the 2 browner shades (Generous and Grateful) and the bright red (Enamored)). So glad I picked it up, it definitely will help me step out of my comfort zone!

And then, since the Tarte set didn't give me enough lippies (lol, I'm such an addict), I picked this Stila Color Me Glossy set of 9 lip glazes.  To be fair, I'm giving 6 of these away as gifts, since they come packaged in cute gift wrap in sets of 3.  I also couldn't resist some of these flavours/colours: Persimmon, Passionfruit, Melon, Amaretto, they all sound so yummy!

My freebie for the order was this adorable trio of deluxe size Benefit products! I'm not sure if this code is still in stock, but it's VIBSPREE (only available to those with VIB status at Sephora). Definitely a great freebie, although I've yet to test these out.

This freebie is a trial of 3 colours of YSL's Glossy Stain, it even came with a sample applicator!

I have been LOVING this perfume from Escada, although it is definitely more appropriate for Spring/Summer since it's so fresh and fruity!

And my last sample was the Hourglass Oil-free Mineral Primer, which I hope to test out, since it gets rave reviews!

That's my Sephora haul (although I have 2 more in the works...). What have you hauled recently from Sephora?

I'm journeying away from my usual cool colours for this gorgeous red from OPI!

This is 2 coats of OPI No Spain No Gain over and under my Revlon Multi-Care Base+Top Coat.  So shiny!

I picked this up at my long-time spa since they had a bucket of OPIs on clearance, love it!

Have you broken out of a beauty comfort-zone recently? If so how?

This is 2 coats of Julep Valerie over my Revlon Multi-Care Base+Top Coat.  Can we just appreciate how shiny this polish is! It's described as a teal with gold shimmer from Julep, however I find it more green than teal and love it! Definitely nothing similar in my collection!

I received this polish in my October Maven box (see here)

Yay for deep blues!  This is 2 coats of Sephora by OPI Opening Night (from this haul) over and under my Revlon Multi Care Base+Top Coat.

I actually really loved this look (no surprise, I'm a huge fan of blues!), really sophisticated and think it would awesome under a silver glitter!

Any other navy or dark blue polish suggestions would be appreciated!

November 7 Haul

Back row: Sephora Dare to Flair and Jelly Belly Cocktail Classics
Middle row: Zoya Giovanna, L'Oreal The Mystic's Fortune, NYC Greenwich Village, KIT Retractable Lip Brush
Front row: NYX Jumbo Lip Pencil Honey Nectar, NYX Retractable Eyeliner Silver

I've been wanting a retractable lip brush for a while now and this was on sale at Rexall for $7.49 so I picked it up

I love lip pencils and wanted to try out this one from NYX, I love the colour a mix between pink and coral.  I threw in the eyeliner as well since it was buy one get one 50% off

Sephora by OPI On Stage, Sephora by OPI Skinny Jeans, Sephora by OPI Looks Like Rain, Dear, Zoya Giovanna, L'Oreal The Mystic's Fortune, and NYC Greenwich Village

I found all of these (except the L'Oreal was found for $3 at Dollarama and the NYC was picked up at Rexall) at Marshall's and had to have them! On Stage has been on my to-buy list for a while now, and I've been loving all the swatches of Giovanna on various blogs I follow so picked it up when I spotted it on display.

Have you made any beauty purchases lately? Planning on taking advantage of Sephora's 20% off code, let me know what you buy!

My metallic-y duochrome mani! This is 2 coats of OPI Not Like the Movies (from this haul) with 1 coat of Sally Hansen Moonstone Chrome (one of my oldest nail polish) as the accent.  I used my Revlon Multi-Care Base+Top as the base for this mani.

Can we just stop and admire how this polish transitions from a forest green to a purple to a silver?

What is your favourite duochrome?

October Empties

Only used up three products this month :( I will try to reduce more in November.

Sephora Mango Smoothing Body Scrub: I bought this last November to get a Sephora purchase over $75 to get free shipping. I actually love the scent, tropical and fruity! I also love how my legs feel after using this, very soft and smooth! However, it did not completely eliminate my ingrown hairs, so I am trying out other exfoliants before deciding whether or not I will repurchase this.

Givenchy Very Irresistible: I got this as a sample from this haul. This scent is a bit too flowery for me, but I did use it up to the last drop. A great mysterious scent!

The Body Shop Exotic Shower Gel: I have had this for wayyy too long (The Body Shop has rebranded several times since this look).  I love the scent, but I don't think it's carried anymore.  The Body Shop's shower gels are great, but a bit pricey for my budget.

A simple rose mani!  This is 2 coats of Zoya Kate (from this haul) over my Revlon Multi Care Base+Top Coat.

I think Kate is a great fall colour and definitely work appropriate!
